I had the honor of meeting Miss Tonya Mitchell on Aug 24th 2001 at the Jackson Mississippi *NSYNC concert.I happen to be good friends with her,
and made arrangements with her to meet her with her telling me that She
will be coming with Justin's mom Lynn to the concert, and would be at the sound check party or outside of it.I noticed this real pretty girl with long
strawberry blondish hair wearing nude shoes, which she called them LOL, aka platform shoes and I went up to her and I was right,it was Tonya!!!!
I been communicating with her for almost 2 years since 1999 and finally got to meet her :) She was so sweet to me and to my mom Susie. She also signed a autograph for a little girl outside the venue in an wheel chair aww
so sweet and took a picture with the little girl too.Tonya was very sweet,
and one nicest people I have met.
Encounter Story #2
Name: Erin Age:15 When: April 13, 2001 Where: KatManDu in Trenton, New Jersey
Before the 98 degrees concert on April, 13th my friend Carrie and I went to the club KatManDu
in Trenton, New Jersey. Tonya was there, and was going to be performing. We were both very,
very excited! I had heard her song "Broken Promises" on the radio and I LOVED it! When Tonya
came on-stage and performed she was AMAZING! She sang "I Represent", "Broken Promises", and
"Your The One I Want". She had such a beautiful voice, and awesome dance moves. She totally
won me over! After she performed she signed autographs and after waiting for I'd say about
a half an hour we finally got to meet her. But it was TOTALLY worth the wait. She is such a
sweet, and wonderful person. I talk to her a lot on-line, and she is just so sweet! She is not
the least bit stuck up. I have so much respect for Tonya, and a LOT of faith in her. She is
going to go far, and I know many people who agree.
Encounter Story #3
Name: Erin Age:15 When: June 11, 2001 Where: Sofitel Hotel, Philadelphia, PA
Well, luckily everything worked out and I did end up meeting Tonya at her hotel in Philly.
She hugged me three times LOL! When I first saw her I started crying so hard! I couldn't
help it LOL! I finally was able to meet my idol once again. :>) I bought her a Barbie doll
(because she collects them lol!), a bath set, candy bars (LOL!), an August box (her b-day is
in August), and I gave her pics of Ashley Angel (her crush). She seemed to like my gift, but
she is a sweetie so of course she would. She was like "Awww thank-you so much, you guys are
so sweet!" Me and my friends got a bunch of great pics of her. She did some real funny poses
hehehe! I cannot wait to get them developed! She was so pretty, man I wish I looked like
her. She could probably have any guy that she wants LOL! I was amazed at how down-to-earth
Tonya was, but I kind of expected her to be. She is just too nice, really! She is just
like everyone else except she made her dream come true by working hard, and never
giving up. I basically said to her "You are such an amazing person, and deserve everything
you get. I'll see you on the Grammy's one day." Everyone I went with loved her and thought
that she was so nice. She honestly helped me to realize that everyone lives, everyone dies
but during your life you can either, try and do something good with your life or not. Everyone
has the same capabilities you just need to work hard and never give up. All those celebrities
out there really are just totally normal people who made their dreams come true with a lot of
hard work and determination. The only thing is they are now in the public eye, but are still
just human beings. After meeting Tonya again I honestly do realize that! She taught me a lesson
that I really did need to learn. I am very thankful to her for that as well as many other things.
I will always have a lot of respect for her. Because even if when she gets big if people put her
down, I'll always know what she is really like.
